Just Cause 4

๐ŸŒช️ Just Cause 4 – PC Review (RTX 3050 + i5 13th Gen)

๐ŸŽฎ Overview

Just Cause 4, developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Square Enix, continues Rico Rodriguez’s over-the-top journey in the massive fictional South American nation of Solรญs. It expands on the formula of chaos and mayhem with new extreme weather systems, more gadgets, and an even larger world.

It’s a sandbox of destruction meets dynamic weather madness.

⚙️ Performance on Your PC Setup

  • GPU: RTX 3050 8GB

  • CPU: Intel i5 13th Gen

  • RAM: 16GB recommended

  • Resolution: 1080p

FPS Benchmarks (1080p):

  • High Settings: ✅ ~70–85 FPS (smooth gameplay)

  • Ultra Settings: ✅ ~50–60 FPS (some drops in storms & explosions)

  • Medium Settings: ✅ 90+ FPS (if you want max fluidity)

Optimized much better than Just Cause 3
✅ Very stable on your hardware — no major crashes or stutters

๐ŸŒ World & Visuals

  • Map Size: Huge and varied — deserts, rainforests, cities, mountains

  • Weather Effects: Sandstorms, blizzards, lightning storms, and tornadoes feel dramatic and change gameplay

  • Destruction Effects: Good but slightly toned down compared to JC3

  • Draw Distance & Water Physics: Decent, but not revolutionary

๐ŸŽจ Graphics Quality: Improved overall but some textures (especially NPCs/buildings) look dated. Not RTX-tier lighting.

๐ŸŽฎ Gameplay & Mechanics

Core Gameplay

  • Rico’s classic grappling hook, parachute, and wingsuit return — and they feel better than ever

  • Tether System: Now customizable — you can add boosters, balloons, or electricity for wild stunts

  • Vehicles: Wide variety, from tanks and choppers to jets and hovercraft

  • Combat: Fast-paced and explosive, though AI still isn't very smart

๐ŸŒช️ Extreme Weather System

  • A standout feature: tornadoes rip apart bases and vehicles in real time

  • You can use wind tunnels, lightning storms, and more to your advantage

  • Adds strategic fun during missions and chaos in free roam

๐ŸŽฏ Mission Design

  • Mostly revolves around blowing up bases, escorting allies, or capturing zones

  • Mission variety is limited, and it can feel repetitive

  • More focus on sandbox freedom than narrative structure

๐Ÿ“– Story

  • Rico takes on the Black Hand militia and uncovers secrets about his father

  • Sadly, the story is forgettable

  • Cutscenes and characters feel B-grade — story is just an excuse for destruction

๐Ÿงจ Gadgets & Customization

  • You can customize grappling hook mods mid-game

  • Unlocking abilities through squad missions is fun but can become grindy

  • Loadout switching and gadgets make each explosion session feel unique

๐ŸŽง Sound Design

  • Good explosions and weather audio effects

  • Voice acting is average

  • Music is decent but not memorable

๐Ÿ’ก Pros

✅ Massive open world with dynamic biomes
✅ Customizable grappling hook = endless creative mayhem
✅ Better performance and optimization than JC3
✅ Weather system adds unique gameplay twists
✅ Runs beautifully on RTX 3050 at 1080p

⚠️ Cons

❌ Weak and repetitive mission design
❌ Story is generic
❌ Some visual textures look dated
❌ Less destructibility than JC3 in places
❌ AI behavior is still poor

๐Ÿ“Š Benchmark Summary on Your PC

SettingAvg FPSNotes
Low110+Very smooth, but bland visuals
Medium90–100Balanced visuals and performance
High70–85Best experience on your setup
Ultra50–60Playable, but can dip during chaos

๐Ÿ Final Verdict: 7.5/10

Just Cause 4 builds on the crazy open-world formula with massive storms and customizable chaos. While its story and mission variety fall short, the gameplay loop of destruction, wingsuiting, and grappling is still addictive. On your RTX 3050 + i5 PC, it runs extremely well, making it an enjoyable sandbox experience with eye-popping stunts.
