Call of Duty WWII

๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ–ฅ️ Call of Duty (Wii versions) – Full PC Review (Dolphin Emulator, 2025)

Tested on My Gaming PC:

  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3050 8GB

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 13th Gen

  • RAM: 16GB DDR4

  • Emulator: Dolphin 5.0-XXXXX (latest version)

  • Display: 1080p 60Hz

  • OS: Windows 11 64-bit

๐Ÿ› ️ Emulator Performance:

Runs flawlessly at 1080p with Dolphin Emulator
✅ FPS locked at 60 FPS even with enhancements
✅ Upscaling to 2x or 3x native resolution looks far better than on the original Wii
✅ Load times are almost instant on SSD

๐Ÿ“Œ Wii controls (motion + nunchuk) can be mapped to mouse + keyboard or gamepad easily.

๐ŸŽฎ Gameplay Experience by Title:

1️⃣ Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Reflex Edition (Wii Port of COD 4)

  • Full campaign with all missions intact

  • Multiplayer (offline only now)

  • Visuals are heavily downgraded vs PC/PS3 but playable at higher res via Dolphin

๐ŸŽฏ Good for nostalgia, but clearly limited in textures, lighting, and AI polish.

2️⃣ Call of Duty: World at War (Wii)

  • Surprisingly good Wii port with co-op and full campaign

  • Features zombies (though limited)

  • Uses motion controls for aiming and grenades — works great when mapped

๐ŸŒŠ Jungle warfare and flamethrower missions are still thrilling, even if visuals are soft.

3️⃣ Call of Duty: Black Ops (Wii)

  • Full single-player campaign

  • Zombies mode is present (Kino Der Toten!)

  • Visuals and gunplay are toned-down, but still authentic

๐ŸŽฎ Playable in Dolphin with no issues; expect lower enemy density and slightly altered levels.

๐Ÿ–ผ️ Graphics (Emulated in Dolphin, 1080p+):

  • Much better than the native Wii output (480p)

  • Upscaling improves textures and sharpness significantly

  • Shadows, reflections, and lighting are basic compared to PC/console COD versions

  • Character animations are simplified

๐Ÿ–ฅ️ You can even play in 1440p or 4K — just keep internal resolution at 3x or 4x.

๐Ÿ”Š Sound & Music:

  • All original COD soundtracks are preserved

  • Gunshots and voices are slightly compressed (due to Wii hardware limits)

  • No audio bugs in Dolphin with HLE or LLE settings

๐ŸŽง Using headphones helps immerse you in these simplified warzones.

๐ŸŽฎ Controls & Customization:

  • Dolphin allows full mapping of Wii Remote + Nunchuk controls to:

    • Mouse + keyboard

    • PS4/PS5/Xbox controllers

    • Gyro (if using a compatible gamepad like DualSense)

⚙️ Best experience is with a controller mimicking Wii motion input.

๐Ÿ“Š Final Verdict (Wii COD via Dolphin Emulator on PC):

CategoryRating (Out of 10)
Performance on Emulator9.5
Graphics Upscaled (1080p+)7.5
Gameplay Accuracy8.0
Story & Missions8.5
Controls (remapped)9.0
Zombies Mode (BO/WAW)7.5
Overall Emulated Experience8.3 / 10

✅ Pros:
  • Fully playable campaigns on modern PC

  • Smooth 60 FPS emulation with visual upgrades

  • Classic motion-control gameplay remapped to modern controls

  • Fast loading, customizable resolution

  • No Wii console needed

❌ Cons:

  • Visuals are still Wii-level (even when upscaled)

  • Audio is compressed

  • Limited multiplayer support (servers offline)

  • Some maps or modes trimmed down from PC/console versions

๐Ÿ“ฆ How to Play COD Wii on Your Gaming PC:

  1. Download Dolphin Emulator (https://dolphin-emu.org)

  2. Dump or acquire Wii ISO of the COD game (legally from your disc or console)

  3. Load it into Dolphin, configure controller and graphics

  4. Set internal resolution to 2x or 3x for 1080p

  5. Enjoy!
