Far Cry 5

๐ŸŽฎ Far Cry 5 – PC Game Review (Played on RTX 3050 + i5 13th Gen)

๐Ÿ” Overview

Far Cry 5, developed by Ubisoft Montreal, is a first-person open-world shooter set in the fictional county of Hope County, Montana. You play as a junior deputy tasked with taking down a violent doomsday cult led by the charismatic and terrifying Joseph Seed and his siblings. It’s a nonlinear open-world experience full of chaos, freedom, and explosive gameplay.

๐Ÿ–ฅ️ Performance on My Gaming PC

Specs:

  • GPU: RTX 3050 8GB

  • CPU: Intel i5 13th Gen

  • RAM: 16GB DDR4

  • Storage: SSD

  • Resolution: 1080p

  • Settings Played On: High / Ultra mix

๐Ÿ”ง FPS & Smoothness:

  • Ultra settings at 1080p: Steady 50–60 FPS

  • With High settings, it pushes a stable 60–70 FPS

  • Runs on the optimized Dunia engine – surprisingly well for open-world scale

  • No major frame drops or stutters during combat, driving, or exploration

  • Very quick loading thanks to SSD

๐Ÿ‘️ Graphics & World Design

  • Absolutely gorgeous representation of rural Montana: forests, rivers, farms, mountains, and cult compounds

  • Lighting, shadows, and dynamic weather feel realistic and immersive

  • Character models and facial animations are decent but not cutting-edge

  • Wildlife, explosions, and fire effects are intense and satisfying

๐Ÿ”ซ Gameplay & Combat

  • Classic Far Cry chaos: stealth takedowns, sniper headshots, bow kills, or going full Rambo with RPGs

  • You can liberate outposts, blow up silos, rescue civilians, or just go fishing

  • Guns for Hire system lets you recruit AI companions (including Boomer the dog and Cheeseburger the bear ๐Ÿป)

  • Vehicles include cars, trucks, ATVs, helicopters, planes, and even tractors

  • Excellent gunplay, responsive and punchy controls

๐Ÿ“œ Story & Characters

  • The Seed family (Joseph, Faith, John, and Jacob) are twisted and memorable villains

  • Story is divided into three regions, each controlled by a different Seed sibling

  • Missions are nonlinear — explore the world and take on objectives your way

  • Some forced cutscenes interrupt freedom, but overall storytelling is engaging

  • The ending is controversial but bold

๐Ÿค Co-op & Arcade Mode

  • Full campaign co-op support – invite a friend and wreak havoc together

  • Far Cry Arcade: user-generated content and maps (PvE and PvP), though not very active now

  • AI partners in solo are helpful and add personality to your missions

๐Ÿ”Š Sound & Music

  • Soundtrack features American folk, gospel, and cult music – deeply atmospheric

  • Voice acting is solid, especially Joseph Seed’s creepy sermons

  • Weapon and ambient sounds are well-balanced and immersive

๐Ÿ‘ Pros

  • Huge open world with complete freedom

  • Excellent performance on RTX 3050 + i5 13th Gen

  • Tons of weapons, vehicles, and chaos

  • Beautiful visuals and atmospheric sound design

  • Great co-op gameplay

๐Ÿ‘Ž Cons

  • Story pacing is occasionally forced (abductions)

  • Missions can get repetitive

  • Arcade mode is largely inactive today

  • Some enemies feel like bullet sponges on higher difficulties

Final Verdict

Far Cry 5 is one of the most fun and flexible open-world shooters you can play. On your RTX 3050 and i5 13th Gen setup, it runs smoothly at High/Ultra settings in 1080p, making it a visual treat and action-packed experience. Whether you play solo or co-op, it’s packed with wild moments, insane weapons, and unforgettable villains.

Rating: ★★★★½ (4.5/5)
Highly recommended for action fans, Far Cry veterans, and co-op gamers.
